Deep Hydration: Skin boosters deliver intense moisture into the skin using hyaluronic acid. Your skin will be plump, dewy, and radiant.
Signs of Ageing: Fine lines and wrinkles are an early concern for those starting aesthetic treatments. Skin boosters provide subtle, natural-looking rejuvenation.
Dull Skin: Another major reason people turn to skin boosters is dull skin. Environmental factors, stress, and ageing can reduce skin radiance. Skin boosters work to restore that glow.

Your Skin Will Love This!
While most of us are familiar with Botox (though, at Dr MJ, we've switched to the superior Relfydess) and dermal fillers, the power of skin boosters is less known. Allow us to introduce you to this revolutionary treatment. Skin boosters are an injectable treatment designed to deeply hydrate and rejuvenate the skin from within. Think of it as a moisturiser injected beneath your skin.
The primary goal of skin boosters is to improve skin quality. The treatment is made primarily from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts and retains moisture. It’s responsible for keeping your skin soft and hydrated. Hyaluronic acid depletes with age, and the best way to restore it is skin boosters.
Tiny microinjections of hyaluronic acid are delivered directly into the skin’s dermis. This not only provides instant hydration but also stimulates collagen and elastin production. If you struggle with dryness, fine lines, and or tired-looking skin, skin boosters will help your skin look smoother, healthier, and more youthful in just one session.
Skin boosters deliver intense moisture into the skin using hyaluronic acid. Your skin will be plump, dewy, and radiant.
Through collagen stimulation, skin boosters enhance skin elasticity, smooth out fine lines, and refine overall skin texture.
Unlike fillers that add volume, skin boosters work beneath the surface to improve skin quality. The result is a fresh glow.
As with any injectable treatment, skin boosters come with potential side effects. Fortunately, when the treatment is administered by a trained medical professional, the risk for any severe side effects is significantly reduced. All of our injectors come from medical backgrounds, so you can rest assured knowing they’ll prioritise your safety and comfort each step of the way.
There are a few common side effects that we make our patients aware of. These include:
Mild swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site. All of these symptoms are completely normal and should subside within a couple days.
As far as injectable treatments go, skin boosters are an incredible, cost-effective option for restoring your skin’s hydration. In the UK, dermal fillers and more intensive skin treatments like ablative laser skin resurfacing provide great results, but they don’t fit everyone’s budget.
With a full-face skin booster treatment, you can get a glowier, more hydrated complexion for the price of a single area of dermal filler. Not a bad price for the stunning results of skin boosters!

Skin boosters are an injectable treatment designed to deeply hydrate the skin, improve elasticity, and promote collagen production. They contain hyaluronic acid, which attracts moisture, leaving skin plump, radiant, and rejuvenated. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, they don’t add volume but enhance skin quality.
When administered by a qualified medical professional, skin boosters are very safe! Here at Smileworks, all of our injectors come from a medical background. They have a deep understanding of facial anatomy, so you couldn’t be in safer hands. You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising, but this is completely normal and should subside within a couple days.
You’ll notice an immediate glow after your treatment, with best results seen after 3 or 4 weeks. It takes time for the treatment to stimulate your collagen. Depending on your skin, you may need 2-3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results.
This depends on the individual’s skin condition and lifestyle. We typically see skin boosters last between 6-12 months. Many of our patients opt for top-up treatments every 6 months to maintain their results.
In our opinion, yes, skin boosters are well worth it! This is especially true if you’re seeking hydration, improved skin texture, and a subtle glow. They offer long-lasting, natural results for those with dry, dull or ageing skin.
Skin boosters and Botox (or Relfydess) serve different purposes. Skin boosters improve skin texture, hydration, and elasticity. Think of it as a moisturiser injected under the skin. On the other hand, Botox minimises the appearance of dynamic wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles. Skin booster is a great treatment to use in combination with Botox, especially for fine lines that aren’t responding to Botox.
This depends on your goals. Skin boosters hydrate and improve skin texture without adding volume. Dermal fillers are designed to restore lost volume, contour the face, and reduce deeper wrinkles. If you want glowing, refreshed skin, skin boosters are ideal. For volume loss or facial sculpting, dermal fillers are the better choice.
While polynucleotides and skin boosters are both injectables that aim to improve skin quality, they work in fundamentally different ways. Where skin boosters use hyaluronic acid to add moisture into the skin, polynucleotides use purified DNA fragments. The main goal of polynucleotides is repair and regenerate skin tissue on a cellular level. Polynucleotides are best for those with more advanced signs of ageing or skin damage.
Skin boosters are suitable for adults of all ages, but they are particularly popular among people in their late 20s to 40s. Younger patients use them for preventative hydration, while older patients often seek them to restore moisture and skin elasticity.
Skin boosters may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infection/inflammation, have a history of severe allergic reactions to aesthetic treatments, or have a bleeding disorder. You can always book a consultation with one of our aesthetic injectors to ensure the treatment is appropriate.
For injectable treatments at Dr MJ, we use a local anesthetic to minimise any discomfort you might feel. We’ll make sure you're numb before we start treatment. Most of our patients describe the sensation as completely painless, though everyone’s pain tolerances are different. We provide stress balls just in case it gets to be too much.
